Lions Predicted to Shake Up the Quarterback Position with Jared Goff Move

The Detroit Lions are making moves this free agency period, and one of the most intriguing potential signings could involve veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett. As the Lions seek to boost their offense, a key area of focus is the wide receiver position. While Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Tim Patrick are solid, adding Lockett could provide a much-needed boost.

Lockett, released by the Seattle Seahawks after 10 seasons, had a down year in 2024 but still brings valuable experience. Despite his age (33), Lockett has been a consistent contributor, posting four consecutive seasons with over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. A one-year contract could give the Lions a chance to maximize his potential and further strengthen their receiving corps.

If the Lions sign Lockett, it would complement St. Brown’s versatility and give quarterback Jared Goff more options to work with in what’s shaping up to be a promising offense. With approximately $52.8 million in cap space, the Lions have room to make this move, potentially revitalizing Lockett’s career and boosting their playoff hopes.
