Jared Goff just got the biggest W of his life—and it has nothing to do with football.
The Detroit Lions quarterback and his wife, Christen Harper, officially became parents this week. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Romy Isabelle Goff—and the NFL world is showing them major love.
The announcement came via Instagram, where Christen posted a sweet photo of the family with a caption revealing the baby’s name. Almost instantly, fans and friends flooded the post with congratulations. Even the Detroit Lions’ official account chimed in with, “Congratulations!! 💕💕💕.” Other big names like model Katie Austin and influencer Shannon Ford added their own gushing comments.
But it wasn’t just social media followers who showed love. The Lions shared a photo of Goff and Harper with their newborn on X (formerly Twitter), and even rival fans dropped in to offer props. One Packers fan even admitted, “It’s hard not to root for Jared Goff. Just seems like a good guy.”
As Goff gears up for another run at the playoffs, he’ll now be doing it with a little more “dad energy”—and that’s something no defensive coordinator can prepare for.
Meanwhile, CBS Sports has Goff listed as one of the league’s “borderline stars” heading into the 2025 season. While critics point to his struggles late last season, analyst Cody Benjamin praised Goff’s ability to run Detroit’s high-powered offense efficiently, especially when he’s protected in the pocket.
Between fatherhood and football, it’s shaping up to be a big year for No. 16.
