Lions’ Special Teams Player of the Year: Who Deserves the Crown?

The Detroit Lions’ special teams unit was one of the best in the NFL in 2024, and now it’s time to recognize the standout performer. With kicker Jake Bates making clutch kicks, punter Jack Fox breaking records, and returners like Kalif Raymond and Khalil Dorsey making big plays, there’s no shortage of worthy candidates.

The Top Contenders:
Jake Bates (K) – A rookie sensation, Bates nailed 89.7% of his field goals, including game-winners against the Vikings, Texans, and Packers.
Jack Fox (P) – The All-Pro punter set an NFL record for net punting average (46.2 yards) and had the league’s highest gross average (51.0 yards).
Khalil Dorsey (ST) – An elite gunner and dynamic returner, Dorsey’s 72-yard kickoff return against the Titans was one of the season’s best plays.
Kalif Raymond (PR) – Led the NFL in punt return yards, ranked third in return average, and had one of just six punt return TDs in the league.
