The Detroit Lions are keeping defensive end Mitchell Agude around for another year. The team announced on Monday that Agude, who originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2023, will be returning for the 2025 season.
After failing to make Miami’s final roster, Agude found a home on Detroit’s practice squad. Last season, he suited up for four games, primarily contributing on special teams. He made three tackles and even forced a fumble—an impressive feat given his limited opportunities.
By re-signing Agude, the Lions are showing confidence in his potential. Whether he sticks to special teams or earns more snaps on the defensive line, he’ll get another shot to prove himself in Detroit.
