The Detroit Lions are wasting no time in strengthening their secondary, signing cornerback D.J. Reed to a three-year, $48 million deal, which includes $32 million guaranteed. Reed, a 7-year veteran, has spent the past few seasons with the New York Jets, after stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. Throughout his career, he’s started 70 games, notched 6 interceptions, defended 51 passes, and racked up 414 tackles, including 12 for a loss.
This move comes after the Lions reportedly lost star cornerback Carlton Davis to the New England Patriots in free agency, making Reed a key addition to fill that gap in the defense.
