Lions Spend Big: $4.65 Million Deal for Former Cardinals Starter

The Detroit Lions have made another addition to their defense, signing former Arizona Cardinals nose tackle Roy Lopez to a one-year, $4.65 million contract. Lopez agreed to the deal on Tuesday, according to Tom Pelissero.

Lopez, a four-year veteran, brings valuable experience to the Lions’ defense. In the last two seasons, he recorded 70 tackles, six for a loss, four QB hits, three pass deflections, and one forced fumble as a key member of Arizona’s defense.

This move is the latest in the Lions’ efforts to strengthen their defense during free agency.
