Detroit Lions left tackle Taylor Decker is headed to his first Pro Bowl after being named as a replacement for teammate Penei Sewell, who will miss the event due to injury. This milestone marks a significant achievement in Decker’s nine-season NFL career, during which he has been a cornerstone of the Lions’ offensive line since being drafted in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Decker, who started all 126 games of his career, had an impressive 2024 season, earning a 77.2 Pro Football Focus grade, ranking 21st among all NFL tackles. His consistent performance and leadership helped solidify the Lions’ offensive front, paving the way for a high-powered offense led by Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Other Lions slated to participate in the Pro Bowl include Jahmyr Gibbs, Frank Ragnow, Brian Branch, Jack Fox, and Jared Goff, though St. Brown has reportedly withdrawn due to injury. The Pro Bowl Games will feature a skills competition on January 30 and the championship game on February 2.
This honor not only highlights Decker’s dedication but also reflects the Lions’ emergence as a team on the rise in the NFL.
