Lions Strengthen Special Teams with New Linebacker Signing

The Lions are adding another key special teams player. Detroit has agreed to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with linebacker Grant Stuard, a move that bolsters their depth in a unit that values versatility.

Stuard, originally a seventh-round pick by the Buccaneers, spent the last three seasons with the Colts, where he racked up over 1,300 special teams snaps. He also got his first real shot on defense in 2024, starting six games and finishing with 40 tackles. With the Lions likely moving on from special teams captain Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Stuard will compete for a roster spot in a crowded linebacker room.
