Lions’ Super Bowl Dreams in Jeopardy? Myles Garrett Could Be the Nightmare

Lions’ Super Bowl Hopes in Danger if Eagles Land Myles Garrett?
Could the Philadelphia Eagles derail the Detroit Lions’ Super Bowl window before the 2025 season even begins? Reports suggest Eagles GM Howie Roseman is eyeing a major move for Cleveland Browns star edge rusher Myles Garrett.

NFL insider Dianna Russini revealed that Philadelphia is looking to make a “big swing” this offseason, and Garrett could be their top target. “He’s an impact add and isn’t a free-agent overpay,” an NFL GM reportedly told Russini. “Howie’s not afraid to try stuff, and it fits where they are as a team.”

The Browns have publicly stated they aren’t looking to trade their All-Pro pass rusher, but history has shown that Roseman isn’t afraid to be aggressive. If the Eagles pull off this move, it could make their already formidable defensive line nearly unstoppable—and that’s bad news for Detroit.

Meanwhile, Lions GM Brad Holmes has expressed that adding an elite pass rusher via trade would be difficult, both financially and in terms of assets required. With long-term contracts for Aidan Hutchinson, Jameson Williams, and Kerby Joseph looming, Detroit might not have the flexibility to pursue a blockbuster deal.

If Garrett lands in Philadelphia, it would create a massive obstacle in the NFC. The Lions are still one of the conference’s top contenders, but a defensive front featuring Garrett, Jalen Carter, and Haason Reddick could shift the balance of power.

For now, Lions fans will have to hope this is just another offseason rumor rather than a legitimate threat to their Super Bowl aspirations.
