Lions Superfan from Michigan’s U.P. Honored as 2025 NFL Fan of the Year

Megan Stefanski Named NFL Fan of the Year for Her Unwavering Detroit Lions Loyalty

Megan Stefanski’s love for the Detroit Lions isn’t just a passion—it’s a legacy. Honored as the 2024 NFL Fan of the Year, she carries on the tradition of her late father, Donnie “Yooper Man” Stefanski, a beloved Lions superfan who traveled from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.) to every home game. Now, Megan does the same, often leaving at 2:30 a.m. to make the five-hour drive to Ford Field before heading back the same night.

Her dedication goes beyond just showing up. Over the past year, she’s played a major role in uniting Lions fans across Michigan, helping raise more than $30,000 for charity. Her commitment, enthusiasm, and tireless support for the team earned her the prestigious honor at the 2025 NFL Honors ceremony.

While celebrating in New Orleans, Stefanski was joined by former Fan of the Year Ron “Crackman” Crachiola and other Lions superfans, including the International Fan of the Year from London. The overwhelming support from the Lions community only reinforced what she already knew—her father would be proud.

“It’s an honor to represent Detroit, the Upper Peninsula, and the entire state of Michigan,” Stefanski said. “It’s surreal. I still don’t believe it.”

Her recognition proves what Lions fans already knew: No matter how far the drive or how tough the season, true loyalty never wavers.
