The Detroit Lions are giving Marcus Davenport another shot despite his injury-plagued 2024 season. The team has re-signed the veteran edge rusher to a one-year, $4.75 million deal after he played just two games last year due to injury.
Davenport was labeled the Lions’ “worst signing of 2024” by Pro Football Focus, but Detroit is banking on his potential. While he’s never played a full season, he showed flashes of dominance in 2021 with the Saints, racking up nine sacks in 11 games. With Aidan Hutchinson still needing a running mate, the Lions could look to the draft for additional pass-rushing help.
