Josh Reynolds Heads to New York, Reunites with Aaron Glenn

Veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds is on the move, officially signing a one-year deal with the New York Jets. The contract is reportedly worth up to $5 million, with $2.75 million guaranteed and the rest based on performance incentives.

This move reunites Reynolds with Aaron Glenn, the former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator who’s now entering his first season as the Jets’ head coach.

Reliable Weapon During His Time in Detroit

Reynolds became a steady contributor for the Lions after joining them in 2021, following his release from the Tennessee Titans. Thanks to his established chemistry with quarterback Jared Goff—dating back to their days with the Los Angeles Rams—he quickly became a valuable asset in the passing game.

During his tenure in Detroit, Reynolds racked up 97 receptions, 1,393 yards, and 10 touchdowns, providing dependable depth behind playmakers like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. Though never the team’s primary target, he delivered in key moments and proved to be a reliable option.

A Familiar Face for Glenn’s New-Look Jets

As Glenn takes the reins in New York, bringing in a trusted veteran like Reynolds makes sense. Though Glenn worked primarily with the defense in Detroit, his familiarity with the team’s culture likely influenced this decision.

For the Jets, this signing adds a proven pass-catcher to their offense. For Reynolds, it’s a fresh start with a coach who understands what he brings to the table.
