Lions Urged to Strike Now for Pro Bowl Pass Rusher Before Window Closes

Lions Draft Talk: Top Linebackers and DBs to Watch in 2025

The Pride of Detroit crew is back at it, diving into another week of NFL Draft talk—this time focusing on the Lions’ defense. Last week, we went over the flashy skill guys. Now it’s time to get into the gritty side of the ball: linebackers and defensive backs.

Let’s be real—linebacker might not be a pressing need right this second, but it definitely will be soon. Most of the current guys are on the last year of their deals: Anzalone, Rodriguez, Stuard, and more. Outside of Jack Campbell and Derrick Barnes, nobody’s locked in for the long haul. So yeah, the Lions need to start planning ahead.

On the latest PODcast, we broke down some linebacker prospects we like for each day of the draft. Think potential game-changers like Jihaad Campbell, plus a couple of hard-nosed Day 2 guys and some sneaky-good special teams options on Day 3.

Then we flipped to the secondary. The starters in 2025 are mostly set, but the future’s still a little murky. Will both safeties get paid big money? What happens at nickel? And can they replace Ifeatu Melifonwu through the draft?

We covered all that, dropped our favorite DB fits for each draft day, and even kicked things off with a quick “Buy or Sell” game on the hot takes from the NFL owners meetings.
