LIVE BLOG: Lions Sign CB D.J. Reed & NFL Free Agency Breakdown

The Detroit Lions have made a big move to strengthen their defense, agreeing to terms with cornerback D.J. Reed on a three-year, $48 million deal. The contract includes $32 million guaranteed, according to FOX’s Jordan Schultz. Reed, a seven-year veteran, has spent the last three seasons with the New York Jets. Throughout his career, he’s accumulated 414 tackles, 51 passes defended, and six interceptions.

This signing comes after the Lions lost cornerback Carlton Davis to the New England Patriots, who secured him with a three-year, $60 million deal. Reed is expected to help fill that gap in the Lions’ secondary, bringing his experience and skills to Detroit as they gear up for the 2025 season.
