Bill Maher Surprises Everyone, Calls Trump “Gracious” and “Measured” After White House Dinner
Bill Maher had some unexpected things to say about Donald Trump after a recent dinner at the White House. On his show Real Time, Maher told his audience that, believe it or not, Trump was actually “gracious” and “measured” during their meeting a side of him people don’t usually get to see.
The dinner included Kid Rock, UFC boss Dana White, and of course, Trump himself. Maher said Trump seemed much more self-aware and laid-back in private than his usual loud, aggressive public persona. “You can hate me for it, but I’m not a liar,” Maher said. “That’s what I saw, and no, I wasn’t high.”
In a pretty funny moment, Maher even brought along a list of insults Trump had thrown at him over the years calling him a “sleazebag,” “stone cold crazy,” and more. Trump? He signed it.
Surprisingly, Maher said he felt totally comfortable challenging Trump’s positions without any backlash. He was even shocked when Trump casually admitted he lost the 2020 election something he rarely says out loud.
At one point, Maher confronted Trump about scaring people with talk of a third term and other big claims. While Trump didn’t exactly promise to tone it down, Maher said he appreciated the honesty and open conversation. He also joked that while MAGA fans won’t need to worry, Trump did send him home with a bunch of hats.
In the end, Maher said the whole experience made him reflect on how out of touch some Democrats have become, noting he felt more comfortable speaking freely with Trump than with some politicians he actually voted for.
