Major Trade Target Emerges as Lions’ Ideal Option Instead of Maxx Crosby

Lions Eye Trey Hendrickson as a Potential Trade Target to Boost Pass Rush

As the Detroit Lions look to make a splash this offseason, rumors are circulating about a potential trade for a top pass rusher to strengthen their defense. Instead of pursuing Maxx Crosby, who would come at a steep price, Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport suggests that Trey Hendrickson could be the perfect fit.

Hendrickson, who has racked up 35 sacks over the last two years, offers better production than Crosby, who has 22 sacks in the same period. At 30, Hendrickson’s age could make him more accessible and cheaper than Crosby, making this trade a smarter move for the Lions.

The proposed trade would involve sending a 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 third-round pick to the Bengals. Hendrickson’s experience and strong ties to Lions head coach Dan Campbell, stemming from their time together with the Saints, make him an ideal addition to pair with Aidan Hutchinson on the edge. If the Lions are serious about their Super Bowl aspirations, this trade could be a game-changer.
