March Madness is here, and Alabama basketball is back in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth year in a row. This team had big expectations from the start, with hopes of winning it all. While just making the tournament isnt their ultimate goal, its still worth recognizing how far the program has come—before coach Nate Oats arrived in 2019 Alabama had only made the tournament twice in 12 years.

Despite a solid 25-8 season and earning a No. 2 seed, Oats has set the bar high, saying anything less than a Final Four appearance would be a “disappointment.” That might be a little harsh, considering Alabama may have to face No. 1-ranked Duke in the Elite Eight. March Madness is unpredictable, and even the best teams can get knocked out early.

Before worrying about a deep run, Alabama needs to take care of business in the first round. They’ll face 15-seed Robert Morris on Friday. The Colonials, champions of the Horizon League, are coming in hot with a 26-8 record and a 10-game winning streak.
