Michael Strahan, the former New York Giants star, recently weighed in on the team’s No. 3 draft pick for the upcoming NFL draft. While there has been little buzz about the Giants drafting a quarterback early on, Strahan suggested they look into adding offensive talent, specifically wide receiver Travis Hunter. According to Strahan, Hunter could make an immediate impact, especially if paired with Malik Nabers. Hunter’s ability to play both offense and defense is a huge selling point, though Strahan feels his best role would be as a wideout.
Strahan also pointed out that if the Giants get Hunter, they’d still need to plan for a quarterback for the future, given that their current quarterbacks will eventually be past their prime. While Hunter isn’t considered a guaranteed Pro Bowler by some, there’s no doubt he’s one of the top receivers in this draft class. The only catch? The Cleveland Browns might steal him with their second pick.
Recent wide receiver picks for the Giants, like Jalin Hyatt and Kadarius Toney, haven’t been huge hits yet, but Strahan believes adding someone like Hunter could change the game.
