Mike Valenti Calls for Lions to Make a Move for Myles Garrett

Mike Valenti Urges Lions to Trade for Myles Garrett: “This Is Life at the Top”

The Detroit Lions have built their success through smart drafting and player development, but could a blockbuster trade be the missing piece to a Super Bowl run? Sports radio host Mike Valenti believes so, arguing that the Lions *must* go after Cleveland Browns superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett—before another contender does.

Garrett, one of the NFL’s most dominant defensive players, has reportedly requested a trade, and teams like the Bills, 49ers, Ravens, and Packers are already in the mix. Valenti insists the Lions can’t afford to sit back, saying, *”If Detroit doesn’t get in on this, someone you’ll face in the playoffs will.”*

The potential move wouldn’t come cheap. Garrett’s contract is massive, and acquiring him would likely cost the Lions high draft picks. However, pairing him with Aidan Hutchinson could create one of the most feared pass-rushing duos in the league.

GM Brad Holmes has stuck to a draft-and-develop strategy, but with Detroit now a legitimate contender, is it time to go all-in? The decision could shape the Lions’ future—and their chances of winning it all in 2025.
