Mock Draft Shake-Up: Bears Jump Ahead for Offensive Star, Cards Score Elite Talent

Bears Make Bold Move for Offensive Star in Latest Mock Draft

The Chicago Bears might be getting aggressive in the draft. With new offensive coordinator Ben Johnson   who helped build a powerhouse offense in Detroit   the Bears are reportedly eyeing a top-tier running back to boost their backfield.

Right now, D’Andre Swift leads the charge, but many think he’s better suited for a secondary role. Enter Ashton Jeanty. The Heisman runner-up is one of the most exciting running back prospects out there, and the Bears seem seriously interested.

In CBS Sports’ latest mock draft from Pete Prisco, Chicago doesn’t wait around—they trade up to the No. 5 spot to grab Jeanty before anyone else can, especially the Raiders, who pick right after at No. 6 and are rumored to be eyeing him too.

In this scenario, the Jaguars are the trade partners, sliding down to No. 10 where they snag wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan—someone to line up opposite Brian Thomas Jr. It’s a win-win: the Bears get their playmaker, and the Jags grab a weapon for their offense.

Meanwhile, the Patriots miss out on their top targets and settle for offensive lineman Will Campbell at No. 4. That feels like a bit of a letdown, especially since some mocks had them trading down too.

Another twist? Armand Membou, one of the top offensive line prospects, drops all the way to No. 16 where the Cardinals scoop him up. That’s a dream scenario for Arizona, who really need someone to help protect Kyler Murray. Membou is raw but super athletic, and at just 20 years old, there’s a lot of room for growth.

With the draft just weeks away, expect even more shakeups and trade rumors to fly. This year’s first round could get wild.
