Russell Wilson has found a new home! The veteran quarterback signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants worth up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed. After interest from teams like the Browns and Steelers, the Giants ultimately gave him the best shot at a fresh start.
Wilson’s 2024 season with Pittsburgh saw him play in 11 games, completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also added 155 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
But what’s next for him in New York? Well, the projections aren’t exactly exciting. RotoWire predicts Wilson will throw for 2,610 yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 2025, along with 183 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.
Despite the underwhelming forecast, USA Today’s Jacob Camenker thinks the signing was a solid move, giving it a “B” grade. “Nobody’s calling the Giants contenders with Wilson, but he’s an upgrade and gives them flexibility at a reasonable price,” Camenker noted.
Now, it’s up to Wilson and the Giants to prove the doubters wrong. Can he turn things around and lead New York back to the playoffs? Time will tell.
