New York Giants Bolster Defense with Ex-Lions Linebacker

Former Detroit Lions linebacker Chris Board is heading to the New York Giants on a two-year deal worth up to $6 million. The veteran special teams ace spent the 2022 season in Detroit before playing for the Patriots last year.

Board has been a reliable presence, appearing in every game for the past three seasons while logging over 2,500 career special teams snaps. With the Lions’ linebacker room already stacked—featuring Alex Anzalone, Jack Campbell, Derrick Barnes, Anthony Pittman, and Ezekiel Turner—his departure isn’t surprising. However, Detroit could still look to add another depth piece or special teams contributor before the offseason is over.
