New York Giants Secure Jameis Winston with Multi-Year Contract

The New York Giants are bringing in quarterback Jameis Winston on a two-year deal worth $8 million, according to multiple reports.

Winston, a 10-year NFL veteran, has started 87 games in his career. He began with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he had a wild 2019 season—leading the league in passing yards (5,109) and interceptions (30) while also finishing second in touchdowns (33).

After spending four years with the New Orleans Saints, he played for the Cleveland Browns in 2024, starting seven games and posting a 2-5 record. He threw for 2,121 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

At 31, Winston joins 26-year-old Tommy DeVito on the Giants’ QB roster. The team is still linked to Aaron Rodgers and holds the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Winston brings experience and could serve as a solid backup, injury insurance for the 41-year-old Rodgers, or a temporary starter while a young QB gets up to speed.
