The New York Jets are once again on the hunt for a new head coach after parting ways with Robert Saleh earlier this season. Saleh’s tenure didn’t pan out as hoped, leaving the Jets looking for fresh leadership.

The latest candidate to enter the mix is Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Joseph is scheduled to interview for the position today.

Joseph adds his name to an already extensive list of potential hires the Jets have considered. Other candidates who have interviewed include Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, former Jets head coach Rex Ryan, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, Maryland’s head coach Mike Locksley, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, and former Panthers and Commanders head coach Ron Rivera, among others.

Joseph brings a wealth of experience to the table, with two decades of NFL coaching under his belt, including roles as a position coach, coordinator, and head coach. He also led one of the league’s top defenses this season with the Broncos, proving his ability to build a strong defensive unit.

For the Jets, Joseph’s defensive expertise could be a key factor, especially for a team that has struggled to establish a defensive identity since Saleh’s departure. However, one lingering question remains: If hired, would Joseph be willing to stick with Aaron Rodgers as the team’s quarterback?
