NFL Analyst Predicts Aaron Rodgers Could Be Benched — Lions Fans Rejoice

Detroit Lions fans have spent years watching Aaron Rodgers torment them in a Packers uniform, so it’s no surprise they’d enjoy hearing some not-so-sunny news about the veteran quarterback’s future. And that’s exactly what one NFL analyst is serving up.

Rodgers, now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is attempting one last run at glory in 2025. But not everyone’s buying it. Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay recently dropped a list of quarterbacks most likely to get benched this season — and guess who’s on it? Yep, Rodgers.

Kay argues that while Rodgers may still be penciled in as the Steelers’ starter, it might not last long. The 41-year-old is coming off a frustrating two-year stint with the Jets and doesn’t exactly have a top-tier offensive line in Pittsburgh to help him bounce back. If he can’t work some early-career magic, Kay says the Steelers might turn to backup Will Howard as the season progresses.

That’s music to the ears of Lions fans. Even though Rodgers is no longer in Green Bay, there’s still plenty of rivalry fire left — especially since Detroit is set to face the Steelers in December. Another chance to spoil Rodgers’ plans? Yes, please.

Rodgers doesn’t have much left to prove, but he’d surely love to notch another win or two against Detroit. Meanwhile, the Lions are rising, and fans would love nothing more than to send Rodgers into retirement with another L.
