NFL Analyst Revives Bold Idea of Lions Trading for Maxx Crosby

Should the Lions Keep Dreaming About a Maxx Crosby Trade?

The idea of the Detroit Lions swinging a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby just won’t go away. While the notion has cooled in recent months, Sports Illustrated analyst Gilberto Manzano recently suggested the Lions should still at least “make the call” to the Las Vegas Raiders about the star pass rusher.

On paper, Crosby would be an ideal fit in Detroit. A Michigan native, he’d form a dominant duo with Aidan Hutchinson and immediately boost a defense that struggled in the playoffs. But there’s one major problem: the Raiders have no real reason to trade him. With Pete Carroll now at the helm, Vegas isn’t looking to tear things down, and Crosby hasn’t demanded a move.

While it’s fun to imagine Crosby in a Lions uniform, this dream seems far-fetched. If Detroit wants a major defensive splash, Myles Garrett—who has expressed frustration with Cleveland—might be a more realistic target.
