With the 2025 NFL Draft just weeks away, the trade buzz between the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants is heating up again. The latest? Giants GM Joe Schoen and Titans GM Mike Borgonzi were seen having a one-on-one coffee chat at The Breakers Palm Beach Resort, fueling speculation about a potential draft-day move.
NY Daily News columnist Pat Leonard spotted them and wasted no time stirring the pot. “Giants GM Joe Schoen and Titans GM Mike Borgonzi were just out in the open here at The Breakers having coffee and chatting for a bit,” he tweeted. Given that the Titans hold the No. 1 pick and the Giants sit at No. 3, it’s not hard to connect the dots.
Who’s Going No. 1?
Washington State QB Cam Ward is looking more and more like the top pick. If Tennessee sticks to their plan, they’re likely taking him first overall. The Giants? If they want Ward, they’d need to move up from No. 3. But after signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, does New York really need another QB? They could still take Shedeur Sanders at No. 3, but they might shift focus to another position instead.
What’s the Game Plan?
Both the Titans and Giants are in rebuild mode and desperately need a franchise quarterback. The Browns, who have the No. 2 pick, are also reportedly in the QB hunt despite already having Deshaun Watson. While Ward has emerged as the clear favorite to go first, Sanders is also expected to be a top-five pick—likely to Cleveland or New York.
Even if the Giants don’t go all-in for a QB, they’ve got their eyes on some serious talent. Head coach Brian Daboll recently called cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter “remarkable,” hinting that he could be a target for them.
Bottom line: There’s still a lot up in the air, but Schoen and Borgonzi’s little coffee date is definitely adding some spice to draft season.
