With the NFL Draft just weeks away, Detroit fans are starting to dream about how the Lions can take that next big step. One NFL analyst thinks the answer is simple—double up on edge rushers.
On the “Locked on Lions” podcast, draft expert Nick Baumgardner shared his latest three-round mock, and it’s got people talking. He predicts Detroit could grab Ohio State’s J.T. Tuimoloau in Round 2 and Michigan’s Josiah Stewart in Round 3. The thinking? Stack the pass rush the same way they did last year with the cornerbacks.
Tuimoloau would bring physicality on early downs and help free up Aidan Hutchinson, while Stewart could come in as a situational pass rusher with serious burst off the edge. It’s a combo that adds depth and potential behind Hutchinson, who’s coming off an injury and still doing most of the heavy lifting on defense.
With the No. 28 pick in the first round, Detroit likely won’t land a blue-chip EDGE. But if the board falls right, getting two guys who complement each other and grow together could be exactly the kind of long-term move Brad Holmes loves.
