With a big name like Shedeur Sanders, media attention is a given—good and bad. As the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, Shedeur’s draft journey has turned into a major spectacle, with speculation running wild about where he’ll land.
Recently, a report surfaced claiming Deion wanted Shedeur to end up with the New York Giants. But Coach Prime wasn’t having it. When the report made the rounds, Deion immediately shut it down on social media, calling it a lie. He made it clear he just wants his son to get a fair shot in the NFL, no matter where that is.
The source of the rumor? A claim from someone at ProMat 2025, a conference that has nothing to do with football. The quote was spread by a Giants contributor from Chat Sports, but there’s no actual footage to back it up. Even the original source, a guy named John Sokol, has since gone private on social media after Deion’s denial.
At the end of the day, this might not even matter. If the Browns like what they see from Shedeur at his pro day, they could make a move for him—regardless of what Deion supposedly prefers. With Tennessee likely grabbing Cam Ward at No. 1, Cleveland still has plenty of options to figure out their quarterback situation.
