Lions Fan Megan Stefanski Named NFL Fan of the Year
While Dan Campbell and Jared Goff may have fallen short at this year’s NFL Honors, one Michigan native stole the spotlight with her unwavering devotion to the Detroit Lions. Megan Stefanski, a Goetzville native, was awarded the prestigious title of NFL Fan of the Year for her dedication to the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
Stefanski, selected by the Lions as their 2024 Fan of the Year, has quickly become a beloved figure in the fanbase. Her schedule has been packed with meet-and-greets, tailgates with fellow superfans like Chef Geech, and events that celebrate her team. In a heartwarming surprise, Stefanski learned in December that she would represent the Lions at Super Bowl LIX, a true honor for a diehard fan.
What makes Stefanski’s commitment truly remarkable is her journey to Ford Field. Despite living over 700 miles away in Goetzville, she makes the 10-hour round-trip journey to attend Lions home games. Her passion for the team doesn’t stop there—she’s also a member of Pro Football’s Ultimate Fan Association and the Tailgating Hall of Fame, regularly organizing fan events and traveling to road games with other Lions supporters.
In addition to her fan duties, Stefanski gives back to her community by organizing charity events at her family’s bar and grill, Yooperman’s, raising funds for Hospice of the EUP. Last summer, her efforts helped raise an impressive $30,000 in one weekend, adding to the $37,000 raised the previous year. Her relentless support for the Lions and her community make her a true standout fan.
