NFL Hot Seat Rankings Just Disrespected Dan Campbell—and Lions Fans Aren’t Having It

Let’s be real — putting Dan Campbell anywhere near a coaching hot seat list is straight-up ridiculous.

After three straight winning seasons, two NFC North titles, and a 15-2 record that set a new franchise high, Campbell has done everything but disappoint in Detroit. And yet, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton listed him in the “room temperature” category for NFL head coaches — like his seat is starting to warm up. Seriously?

The guy took over a franchise known more for heartbreak than hope, and in just a few seasons, he turned the Lions into contenders with grit, swagger, and a locker room that wants to fight for him. Detroit hadn’t sniffed that kind of relevance in decades. But now? They’re expected to win.

Sure, the playoff loss to Washington stung — no doubt. But one postseason misstep doesn’t erase everything Campbell’s built. This isn’t about one game. It’s about a culture shift that has the entire league paying attention.

The front office knows it, too. That contract extension through 2027 says everything you need to know about how much faith the Lions have in their head coach.

Bottom line: Dan Campbell’s seat isn’t warm. It’s ice cold. And any suggestion otherwise just shows who hasn’t been paying attention.

Detroit knows what it has — and it’s not letting go anytime soon.
