NFL Hot Take: Colin Cowherd Says One NFC Team Is Now ‘The Browns’

Colin Cowherd isn’t holding back on his criticism of the New York Giants, comparing them to the Cleveland Browns in a way that won’t sit well with either fanbase.

On “The Herd,” Cowherd argued that the Giants are now mirroring the Browns—solid coaching, some talent on defense, but a mess at quarterback.

“The Giants have really become the Cleveland Browns,” Cowherd said. “I like the offensive head coach. Brian Daboll won a playoff game with Daniel Jones. That’s all I need to know. The rest of the organization? Trouble. I like the coach, they’ve got some good defensive players, and they are a sideshow at quarterback.”

The key difference, according to Cowherd? The Browns are in position to draft Shedeur Sanders at No. 2 overall, while the Giants are stuck with Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Cleveland’s quarterback situation remains fluid after trading for Kenny Pickett, but with a prime draft pick, they have a chance to finally solidify the position. Meanwhile, New York’s move to bring in Wilson and Winston has raised questions about their long-term plan under center.

For both franchises, the upcoming draft could define their future. But for now, Cowherd sees one team moving forward while the other remains stuck in quarterback purgatory.
