NFL Insider Weighs In on Lions’ Chances of Landing Four-Time Pro Bowler in Blockbuster Trade

Lions Still in the Hunt for Trey Hendrickson? NFL Insider Says It’s Possible

The Detroit Lions have made some solid moves in free agency, but they still have a glaring need at edge rusher opposite Aidan Hutchinson. While Marcus Davenport is currently penciled in as the starter, that might not be the long-term solution for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

NFL insider Albert Breer believes Detroit could still pursue a trade for Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson. The Bengals reportedly want at least a second-round pick for the four-time Pro Bowler, and he’s seeking a contract worth over $30 million per year. While that price is steep, the Lions have most of their core locked in through 2026, making a big swing more feasible.

The biggest hurdle? Financial flexibility. Detroit still needs to extend Hutchinson and Kerby Joseph, which could make a Hendrickson deal tricky. But if the Lions view him as the missing piece, giving up a second-rounder could be worth it. Whether Brad Holmes pulls the trigger remains to be seen.
