Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams will not face any disciplinary action from the NFL regarding his gun case.
In October, Williams was involved in a traffic stop in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where police found two guns in the car. One of the guns was registered to Williams, but he did not have a concealed pistol license.
Although Williams did not face any criminal charges, there was speculation about potential NFL discipline. The NFL has a personal conduct policy that allows the league to discipline players for certain off-field incidents, even if they do not result in criminal charges.
However, a league spokesperson has confirmed that the matter is now “closed,” and Williams will not receive any punishment. This news comes as a relief for Williams, who has already served two suspensions in his first three NFL seasons.
One suspension was for violating the league’s gambling policy, and the other was for a performance-enhancing substance policy violation. With this case now behind him, Williams can focus on the upcoming season without any off-field distractions.
