No Limp, Just Lift: Aidan Hutchinson Looks Strong in Offseason Return”

After suffering a fractured leg that cut his electric 2024 season short, Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson has delivered the best kind of offseason update: he’s healthy and feeling great.

Hutchinson, who missed the final 12 games of the season, had been on pace for a career year—leading the league in sacks, pressures, and pass-rush win rate through just five games. The injury was a major blow not only to the Lions’ defense but to Hutchinson’s Defensive Player of the Year campaign.

But now, as training camp nears, the former No. 2 overall pick is showing no signs of lingering issues. In a recent update shared during team media sessions, Hutchinson confidently stated that his rehab went smoothly and that he’s back to full strength.

“I feel like myself again,” Hutchinson said. “We took the right approach in recovery. I’m running, lifting, and getting after it the way I always do.”

This is huge for a Lions defense that leans heavily on Hutchinson’s relentless motor and leadership. Before the injury, he had 7.5 sacks in five games and was on pace for a record-breaking season. Now, he’ll get the chance to pick up where he left off—and prove once again why he belongs in the same breath as Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt.

Teammates and coaches have also noted that Hutchinson is locked in mentally. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn praised Hutchinson for his focus during film sessions and his eagerness to hit the field with the same fire he brought last year.

As the Lions prepare for a season with Super Bowl aspirations, Hutchinson’s return to health is more than just good news—it’s a signal that Detroit’s defense could be scarier than ever in 2025.
