No More Roaring in Jacksonville for This Tide Alum

**Jaguars Cut Ties with Former Bama RB Keilan Robinson**

The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially moved on from running back Keilan Robinson, cutting him after just one season with the team.

Robinson was picked in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but things didn’t exactly go according to plan. A toe injury during training camp had him sidelined for most of his rookie year — he didn’t see the field until the final six games. Even then, his playing time was limited: just five offensive snaps and a handful of special teams action. He returned two kickoffs for a total of 34 yards.

The move isn’t too surprising considering Jacksonville is pretty stacked at running back. Tank Bigsby (an Auburn guy) and Travis Etienne are both returning — Bigsby had a solid year with over 750 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, while Etienne added nearly 600 yards. The Jags also just brought in two more backs from the draft: Bhayshul Tuten from Virginia Tech and LeQuint Allen from Syracuse.

Robinson’s journey started at Alabama, where he ran for 254 yards and two scores as a freshman back in 2019, playing behind Najee Harris and Brian Robinson Jr. After redshirting in 2020, he transferred to Texas to follow coach Steve Sarkisian. There, he stayed in a backup role, mostly behind Bijan Robinson and Jonathon Brooks.

Over three seasons with the Longhorns, he racked up 542 rushing yards, six touchdowns, and added value as a receiver and return man.
