Kader Kohou Re-Signs With Dolphins for 2025
Good news for Dolphins fans cornerback Kader Kohou is officially sticking around for the 2025 season. After Miami placed a $3.26 million right-of-first-refusal tender on him, there was some thought that another team might try to swoop in and steal him away. But nope Kohou signed the tender and he’s back for his fourth year in Miami.
Kohou came into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M-Commerce back in 2022, and he’s made a real impact ever since. As a rookie, he started 13 games and racked up 72 tackles, 10 pass breakups, an interception, and a forced fumble pretty solid for a guy nobody drafted.
In 2023, under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, he played even more, starting 16 games with 63 tackles and 10 pass breakups. Last year, with another new coordinator, Anthony Weaver, his numbers dipped a bit 35 tackles, eight pass breakups, two picks, and a forced fumble but he still contributed.
Now, for the first time in his career, Kohou will actually have the same coordinator two years in a row, and that could be huge for his growth. He’s mostly worked as a nickel corner, but he’s filled in on the outside when needed, showing versatility all over the secondary.
With the draft just a couple of weeks away, it’ll be interesting to see how the Dolphins handle the rest of the secondary. But for now, fans can feel good knowing Kohou’s back in the mix.
What do you think? Are you happy he’s back? Did you ever think he might leave? And what’s your take on the Dolphins’ secondary heading into the draft?
