Amon-Ra St. Brown Keeps It Real About the Lions’ Season
Detroit Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown isn’t sugarcoating anything this offseason.
Speaking to the media during OTAs on Thursday in Allen Park, Michigan, St. Brown shared that he hasn’t been practicing because he’s recovering from knee surgery. Nothing major—just a cleanup—but he’s been rehabbing and says he’ll be ready to roll by training camp.
“I had a surgery on my knee after the season just to clean some stuff up,” he said. “I’ve been rehabbing that, but I should be good to go for training camp.”
While updating reporters on his health, he also made one thing crystal clear: the Lions aren’t playing around this year.
“For us, it’s Super Bowl or nothing,” St. Brown said.
That’s a bold statement—but not unrealistic. Detroit had an impressive 15-2 regular season last year but got knocked out by Washington in the Divisional Round. The season before, they made it all the way to the NFC Championship before losing to the 49ers. So yeah, they’ve been close—and St. Brown is ready to take that next step.
The 25-year-old has been consistently dominant. He’s made the Pro Bowl three years in a row and has racked up at least 100 catches and 1,000 yards in each of those seasons. Last year alone, he caught 115 passes for 1,263 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.
With numbers like that and his mindset, St. Brown clearly isn’t satisfied with just making the playoffs—he wants it all.
