One-Time Pro Bowler, Former Lions Guard Signs with Houston

Former Detroit Lions first-round pick Laken Tomlinson has found a new home, signing a one-year, $4.25 million deal with the Houston Texans. The veteran guard, who was originally drafted by the Lions in 2015, brings a decade of NFL experience to Houston’s offensive line after stints with the 49ers, Jets, and Seahawks.

Tomlinson’s arrival comes as the Texans reshape their O-line following trades involving Laremy Tunsil and Kenyon Green. While his time in Detroit was short-lived, he carved out a solid career, including a Pro Bowl selection in 2021. Now at 33, he’ll look to provide stability and leadership for a Houston team on the rise.
