Packers Return to Dynamic Playmaker in 2025 NFL Draft Discussion

The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for the 2025 NFL Draft, and the big question is, what will they do with the No. 23 overall pick? Many fans are hoping they’ll add a playmaker to the offense, especially around quarterback Jordan Love.

In recent years, the Packers have tended to focus on defense or the offensive line, but some are hoping they’ll break tradition and go after a wide receiver. It seems like that could happen, as a new prediction is making the rounds.

Vinnie Iyer from The Sporting News believes the Packers will snag Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in the first round. Egbuka could be just what the Packers need   a guy who gets open and can make plays. He might not be a future superstar, but he’s solid and exactly what Green Bay needs to help Love.

Egbuka had a standout year in 2024, catching 81 passes for 1,011 yards and 10 touchdowns for Ohio State. Adding him to the mix with Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Christian Watson would give the Packers a serious receiving corps. If they manage to land him, Love could benefit big time.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Packers approach the draft, but if Egbuka’s available at No. 23, he could be hard to pass up.
