Panthers’ Latest Addition? A Hard-Hitting Safety with a Killer Smile

Tre’Von Moehrig Brings the Pain: Panthers’ New Safety Ready to Hit Hard

Before Tre’Von Moehrig officially joined the Panthers, at least one guy in Carolina’s secondary already had him on his radar just not by name.

Mike Jackson, a standout cornerback and one of the bright spots in Carolina’s rough 2024 season, was asked about the hard-hitting safety the team had just snagged from the Raiders. His response? “I didn’t know his name, but I knew his jersey number.”

And in the NFL, that’s the ultimate respect.

Jackson recalled a specific play where Moehrig completely blew up a Chargers ball-carrier on what should’ve been a routine run. “That let me know, ‘Yeah, he watches film,’” Jackson said. “And he’s just a dawg. He doesn’t care about the situation he just shows up every day.”

When Moehrig heard Jackson’s comments, he couldn’t help but grin. “I appreciate that,” he said. “Hopefully, we keep putting that stuff on tape.”

But don’t be fooled by Moehrig’s easygoing demeanor  once he steps on the field, it’s all about delivering punishment. “Whether the ball is coming my way or not, I’m going to make somebody hurt,” he said. “I’m a physical player, but I’m also smart and calculated.”

Panthers fans, get ready—Moehrig isn’t just here to play. He’s here to hit.
