The Detroit Lions are quickly becoming one of the most electrifying teams in the NFL, with standout talent sprinkled across both offense and defense. Their rise isn’t just hype — it’s backed by data, specifically from Pro Football Focus (PFF).
In a recent breakdown by PFF ranking the top 32 players at every position, several Lions made strong appearances in the top 10 — proof of just how loaded this roster really is.
Veteran quarterback Jared Goff earned the No. 9 spot among signal-callers, continuing to prove doubters wrong. Second-year running back Jahmyr Gibbs came in at an impressive No. 4, while wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown also ranked fourth at his position, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most reliable pass catchers.
Tight end Sam LaPorta wasn’t far behind, ranked fifth. On the offensive line, Penei Sewell came in at No. 6 among tackles.
Defensively, Aidan Hutchinson secured the No. 5 edge rusher spot, and linebacker Jack Campbell landed at No. 8. Newcomer D.J. Reed, a major offseason acquisition, ranked sixth among cornerbacks.
The secondary also saw strong representation, with Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph ranking fifth and sixth among safeties, respectively.
