This offseason hasn’t exactly been fun for Lions fans. Between losing key players, battling injuries, and having to listen to nonstop Bears hype, it’s been rough. But one bright spot? The return of Aidan Hutchinson.
Hutch was tearing it up before his season-ending injury last year. He was looking like a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and his comeback has been the one thing giving fans hope. So naturally, someone had to throw cold water on that.

In their recent list of concerns for every NFL team heading into the 2025 season, they dropped a not-so-fun one for Detroit: what if Hutchinson isn’t the same guy after his injury?
Yeah. That’s the kind of “what if” no one needed.
PFF pointed out that Hutch had a ridiculous 95.0 pass-rush grade and a 38.3% win rate before getting hurt—numbers that were easily the best in the league. And while he’s reportedly back to full strength, they warned that it’s worth keeping an eye on whether he can hit that same elite level again. Because let’s face it—the Lions’ whole pass rush revolves around him.
Now, sure, it’s a fair point. But man… couldn’t they have kept that one to themselves?
If Hutch isn’t back to form, Detroit could be in trouble. Like “slipping to third in the NFC North” trouble. But for now, we’ll just keep saying it like a mantra: He’s fine. He’s healthy. He’s better than ever.
Right? Right.
