5 Free Agents Who Could Fill Key Holes for the Lions
The Detroit Lions have made some solid moves in free agency but still have gaps to fill on their roster. Whether it’s adding starters or depth, here are five players who could be good fits:
Mekhi Becton (G) – With Kevin Zeitler heading to Tennessee, Becton could step in as a starting guard. He’s coming off a Super Bowl win with the Eagles and allowed just three sacks in 15 games last season.
Tyler Boyd (WR) – The Lions could use another reliable target for Jared Goff, and Boyd brings versatility and experience. At 30, he still has enough speed and great hands for tough catches.
Quandre Diggs (S) – A former Lion, Diggs could return to help replace Ifeatu Melifonwu. He posted solid coverage grades last season and could be a dependable veteran option.
Za’Darius Smith (DE) – Detroit still needs pass-rush help, and Smith recorded nine sacks between Cleveland and Detroit last year. A reunion could be in the cards.
Calais Campbell (DE/DT) – At 38, Campbell remains durable and effective, logging 52 tackles and five sacks last season. With Alim McNeill recovering from an ACL injury, Campbell could provide depth and leadership.
The Lions still have time to make moves, but these veterans could be valuable additions.
