The left couldn’t stop Donald Trump at the polls, so now they’re trying to stop him in court. Since his return to office two months ago, over 130 lawsuits have been filed against his administration. With help from activist judges, some of these cases have created roadblocks for Trump’s agenda. A lot of the focus has been on lower court judges using temporary restraining orders (TROs), which the administration is pushing back against.
Despite these challenges, the Trump administration has had some big wins in court. Recently, they secured favorable rulings on things like firing federal employees as part of Trump’s effort to drain the swamp. In one case, a judge blocked a request to stop Trump from firing probationary employees, ruling that the unions challenging the move had to take their complaints to a different authority.
Another ongoing fight involves the Department of Government Oversight (DOGE), which has been trying to root out waste and fraud in federal agencies. Courts have consistently sided with DOGE, allowing its access to key departments like Treasury, Education, and Health and Human Services, despite opposition from the left. These victories have allowed DOGE to dig into taxpayer money and fight corruption.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is also battling to reduce federal bureaucracy. A recent executive order called for cutting back agencies like the U.S. Institute for Peace (USIP), which led to conflicts within the agency and lawsuits from fired employees. Despite some initial setbacks, the courts have sided with Trump in several key cases, indicating that his approach to reshaping the federal workforce is legally sound.
While the left continues to pursue legal action, it’s clear that Trump’s team is winning crucial battles in the courts, which could help his administration move forward with its plans.
