Putin’s Gift to Trump? A Portrait of Trump!
Russian leader Vladimir Putin just sent former U.S. President Donald Trump a very on-board gift a portrait of himself! Kremlin officials confirmed that Putin handed over the painting to Trump’s special envoy to Russia, Steve Witkoff, during a recent visit to Moscow.
Witkoff spilled the details in an interview with ex-Fox News host Tucker Carlson, saying Trump was “clearly touched” by the artwork, which he described as “beautiful.”
Their meeting took place amid talks about ending the war in Ukraine, but apparently, there was also time for gift-giving. Witkoff also revealed that Putin claimed he had prayed for Trump last year after he was shot at a rally in Pennsylvania.
This isn’t the first time Putin has used sentimental gestures to charm U.S. leaders. He once impressed George W. Bush with a dramatic story about rescuing a cross from a fire. And let’s not forget the time he gifted Trump a football which the Secret Service promptly scanned for bugs before handing it over to Trump’s son.
