QB Nightmare Incoming? Giants Grab Elite Edge Rusher at No. 3

The New York Giants have a big decision to make with the No. 3 pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, and in the latest Pro Football Focus (PFF) mock draft, they go all-in on defense.

Giants Land Pass-Rushing Stud Abdul Carter

According to PFF’s Josh Liskiewitz, the Giants select Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter at No. 3. With the Tennessee Titans taking Miami QB Cam Ward first and the Cleveland Browns snagging Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders second, New York opts for defensive firepower over a quarterback.

Carter has drawn comparisons to Micah Parsons, and it’s not just because they both rock the No. 11 jersey. He’s an explosive athlete with game-changing potential. Liskiewitz believes that if Carter continues to bulk up, he has All-Pro potential and is absolutely worthy of a top-five selection.

Giants Show Serious Interest in Carter

New York has already done their homework on Carter, holding an extensive private meeting with him during Penn State’s Pro Day. Though he didn’t participate due to injury, he still made a strong impression on Giants brass.

Building a Defensive Powerhouse

Adding Carter to a defensive line that already features Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Dexter Lawrence would make the Giants’ pass rush one of the most feared in the league.

Carter dominated in 2024, leading the nation with 24 tackles for loss, racking up 12 sacks, and finishing with 68 tackles. His 92.4 PFF pass-rush grade was the second-best among all FBS edge defenders.

Even with Burns and Thibodeaux locked in as starters, the Giants would have no problem making room for an elite disruptor like Carter. If this pick becomes reality, New York’s defensive front could be terrifying for opposing quarterbacks.
