It was anything but an ordinary afternoon at Redford Service Academy, where students received a memorable tech lesson—with a surprising twist.
Detroit Lions rookies teamed up with students for a hands-on experience in technology, giving the young learners a chance to explore cutting-edge tools alongside their favorite athletes.
The school’s media team was on hand to interview the players, capturing their reactions to the unique classroom experience.
“Obviously, you know this is the future of America,” said wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa. “They’re going to be the ones dealing with all this technology and AI and the drones and everything, so it’s cool that they’re getting a jump start on that.”
The event was part of a larger mission led by former Lions great Lomas Brown, who founded the Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation to help introduce kids to the ever-evolving world of technology.
Students didn’t just watch—they participated. From flying drones in the gym to outdoor sessions, it was a day of hands-on discovery.
“This is almost like a preview for our Leap Camp,” said Brown, noting the upcoming summer program starting June 23. “We had rookies and alumni come out today to engage with the kids.”
