Report: Detroit’s Amik Robertson a Trade Target for Bengals’ Revamped Defense

The Cincinnati Bengals could be eyeing a sneaky-good addition to their secondary, and it just might come from the Detroit Lions.

Pro Football Network recently put out a list suggesting one potential trade target for each NFL team. Among the names mentioned: Lions cornerback Amik Robertson, who’s being floated as a fit for Cincinnati’s defense.

At just 26 years old, Robertson brings experience and versatility—two traits the Bengals could use in a secondary that features young talents like Dax Hill, DJ Turner II, and Jordan Battle. The idea? Add a seasoned vet who can play inside or outside, mentor the young guys, and help cut down on big plays.

Robertson is coming off a solid 2024 campaign, where he allowed just 7.2 yards per target—the best mark of his career. With Lou Anarumo no longer calling the shots (he’s now in Indy), new Bengals defensive coordinator Al Golden could benefit from a player like Robertson as he installs his system.

While trade chatter this time of year is always a little speculative, the Bengals adding a proven corner with upside wouldn’t be the worst idea—and Robertson might just be available for the right price.
