Ben Roethlisberger is weighing in on the biggest “what if” of the Steelers offseason—and he’s not mincing words. On the latest episode of his Footbahlin podcast, the former Steelers QB predicted Pittsburgh would finish 7-10 in 2025 without Aaron Rodgers. But with Rodgers? Big Ben says it’s an 11-6 season.
Why such a dramatic swing? Roethlisberger says it comes down to one thing: “H-O-F.”
“It’s called three letters: H-O-F,” Ben said. “That’s what that’ll get you…a few more wins. That’s the difference between picking high in the draft or making the playoffs.”
Rodgers has yet to commit to Pittsburgh, but there’s optimism inside and outside the organization that something could get done. According to his biographer Ian O’Connor, Rodgers was annoyed with the criticism he got last year for skipping Jets minicamp for a pre-planned trip to Egypt. That may be why he’s holding off on signing until after spring workouts.
Still, Rodgers has been in regular contact with the Steelers and hasn’t ruled anything out. If a deal is coming, it might be soon—or the team could wait until just before training camp to lock him in.
If Rodgers does land in Pittsburgh, expectations will skyrocket. And based on Roethlisberger’s outlook, fans might want to start dreaming about January football again.
